How many professional makeup artists can say that they did Barbie’s wedding makeup? Even better…how many can say they did the makeup for a Barbie…who was marrying Ken?! I can!

This summer I did the wedding makeup for bride Barbie and all her best girls. My first thought, when Barbie told me her name, was, “Oh how awesome! I’m doing Barbie’s wedding makeup!” (What makeup artist doesn’t dream of being able to say, “I did Barbie’s makeup?” A girl’s dream, of course!) But when Barbie said she was marrying Ken I couldn’t believe it. How cute was that?

Barbie’s makeup was beautiful and thank goodness the products I use are waterproof (always high-end waterproof foundation, blush, mascara, eyeliner, and eyelash glue, to name a few). It rained on Barbie and Ken’s outdoor wedding at Tulsa’s Historical Society, and while makeup is makeup (it won’t last forever, obviously), Barbie and all her girls still looked fabulous post-rain! Nothing could rain on Barbie and Ken’s parade. It was, well, Barbie and Ken’s wedding, after all!

And since I’m still so excited about being able to say, “Yup, I’m a makeup artist who did Barbie and Ken’s wedding!” I came across THIS adorable, and rather ingenious, blog post featuring a…Barbie and Ken wedding!
